The safety and wellbeing of our tenants is our highest priority. We are committed to ensuring any gas appliances fitted by tenants must be installed, maintained, and serviced in full compliance with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulation 1998.
Therefore, you must seek prior written approval, from the Association, to fit an LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) appliance (gas cooker, gas hob etc.) or use a portable LPG appliance (portable LPG heater) and Tenant’s must organise a Gas Safety Check annually by a qualified Gas Safe engineer and provide the certificate to us.

Before an LPG appliance, fixed or portable can be used inside a property a Carbon Monoxide Alarm must be installed in the room where the appliance is to be used.
This is compulsory under Gas Safety regulations, and Scotland Building Regulations, and must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
